Feeling a little bit like Robert Frost...

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Stopping by woods on a snowy South Carolina evening....

Update at 8PM: stopping by the refrigerator on a snowy evening too.

Update II: lights flickering...power will likely be a goner soon. 3 inches so far of heavy, wet snow. Trees (in the woods in photo above) are snapping like matchsticks under the weight of it. Oh the humanity!

Okay, Southern Men. Do something about this. Next week I am taking a vacation to Florida, and you boys need to do something - fast - to make this chilly weather stop.

Please.

You've got nothing to worry about ECI. It's not even hurricane season in Fla. yet. Flying or taking 95?

The midlands been kicking our butts in snow accumulation for ten years now. Bout time yall got some comeuppence. 3 inches here...maybe. At least that's what the local weather babe said...but you know how women make lousy carpenters...and such.

Driving to Portland, Maine, then flying to Tampa. I wanted to drive this year but 1) not enough time and 2) we had to use up some free Continental Airlines vouchers obtained last year.

If we go back in 2010, I hope to drive. We drove down in 2003 and I really enjoyed the trip.

If you ever do a car trek again let me know and I'll drive down to 95 and shake your hand.

Thanks for the comment ECI. Unfortunately, I accidently rejected it in my haste to publish it...and was unable to undo my mistake. The comment moderator is pretty damn unforgiving. Please repost if you can.

Hahahahahahahahaha!!! Oh, the humanity!

I was just saying that I was quite touched by your offer to travel to I-95 for an in-person meeting, however brief that might be. And I'll certainly let you and others know if I drive to Florida next year, but knowing that Columbia isn't exactly next door to I-95, I won't hold you to it.

Thank you, Larry.

ECI: Not only am I not in Columbia, I'm a hundred miles west of there and 95. Such is the magnanimity of your fellow bloggers : )

Hmm... good heavens. Now I feel silly - what made me think you live in Columbia? Might have been the comments in this post a while back, although you didn't actually say you lived in Columbia - you just mentioned the place. Brings to mind the old saying about "you know what happens when you assume"...

Such is the magnanimity of your fellow bloggers : )

I am always amazed at the magnaminity I encounter among my blogging friends.

Okay ECI...I work in Columbia so if you're traveling I-95 just stop at "South of the Border" - a representative will be there to shake your hand
