...rumors, prose and observations from the back alley and beyond

It's Rock and Roll Monday!
Chuck at CTR put up a bunch of old geezers (a couple of them dead now) scrubbing one off circa the 90's and it got me to thinking about old Roy. Here is one of my favorites. Enjoy!
Yes he did. I read somewhere that the recording seesions for the Traveling Wilburys (sp) had to be done later in the day so that Roy could get his "roy voice" together. No morning singing for RO.
Don't throw rocks but I've never been a HUGE Roy Orbison fan. BUT, I LOVE this song...he does it beautifully..thanks, Larry!
(you like my man, Leon Russell? probably not....................;-( probably, you don't even remember him!!) I LOVE "THE BAND", too! Some California girl, huh? Well, I DO like the Beach Boys, too.. And a big Motown fan..you? (Sorry, I love talking music...thanks for the video!)
Z, I love Leon. I've seen him several times. I saw him in Atlanta in the "Tightrope" days and I saw him a few years later doing the Hank Wilson's Back stuff. He does a fantastic version of Whole lotta Shakin Goin On as well as He Stopped Loving Her Today. I like the Leon and Mary Russell Make Love to the Music album: Make a joyful Noise, Say You Will...oh yeah.

Larry, I hadn't heard that song in several years. What a great voice Roy Orbison had.
